I am a British-born French language and literature graduate, and I am lucky enough to now live in a very lovely, rustic north-western corner of the Creuse in the Limousin region of France. I speak French fluently, and I am a qualified and experienced teacher and trainer.
I offer French lessons in the comfort of your own home to all levels. If you wish to improve your confidence in speaking and/or writing French, please feel free to get in touch for further information.

I am British born French and English language teacher.
I prepare all of my courses and lessons myself, which are always adapted to the individual needs of the student. I offer tailored courses in all areas; pronunciation, conversation, grammar, and business and professional French among others, using modern teaching practices, including software and the internet, alongside the tried and tested traditional methods.
I always try to work with interesting and varied resources. Enjoying the learning experience is key when learning a language, enabling 'natural' learning and boosting an individual's confidence.

About me
Let me take you back 12 years...
One dark, dismal, winter evening in December I was teaching French at a night school in the North of England. I remember it was December as all the Christmas lights were shining through the rain. Through the window, the skyline was mostly concrete, the weather wet and the view uninspiring.
My students enthused over the lessons, the French accent and amazingly, some even enjoyed getting to grips with the grammar. They loved to use their new language skills while on holiday or with French-speaking friends and colleagues. It was a great class. They were all very confident individuals, taking great pleasure in sharing their personal language successes with the group. This sharing of my passion and my knowledge to willing recipients left me feeling so much joy.
Yet something just didn't feel 'right.' I realised that staying indefinitely in the UK was no longer for me. Luckily my other half had similar feelings due to his personal rat-race and so jumped at the chance of a new life elsewhere. I sold my house. He sold his house and business. I handed my notice in at work. He closed his part in his business. It was real. We were free. We bought a very old and very abandoned house in a lovely village, and we have simply never looked back.
I had fallen in love with France as a girl. Aged eleven, I found myself gazing in awe at my first French teacher, Madame Heap. She was addressing the class, and I didn't understand a single word she was saying. It sounded so beautiful, and to me, she was so very sophisticated. This lady so inspired me over the next few years, with her knowledge and experiences of France. It's culture, it's people, it's history, it's food, it's literature but especially it's language. I just loved speaking in French, and this passion has stayed with me ever since.
After a couple of childhood holidays to the South of France, my first taste of 'real' France was as a student and an au pair in the 1990s when I both lived and studied, initially in Orléans, and then in Toulouse. I was fortunate enough to complete my university studies in both countries - at the University of Sunderland in the UK and also at the Université d'Orléans here in France.
My dream was always to return to live in France...no, that's not strictly true....it was always to return to my beloved country and to teach in France; to share with others the joy felt when speaking in a language other than your mother tongue...and being understood!
My dream is now reality. My little girl is happily settled in the local school and is happily growing up (albeit a tad too fast!) alongside her copains and copines, and is now fully bilingual.
